Description: By this time in her career, Whitney Houston had a formula sound, and here she leans on it hard, surrounding herself with adult contemporary heavy-hitters like Diane Warren and Babyface. This wasn't the monster her previous records were, most notably
The Bodyguard soundtrack, even though it seems to be an overt attempt at satisfying the same audience. Her voice is as crystalline as ever, but overall it seems a somewhat soulless effort, even though the themes are much more secular than she's braved before. --

Reviews:
EXCELLENT!!!
I think this is my favorite soundtrack of any movie and I own lots of soundtracks! I love each and every song on this CD. I first got this CD back in 1996 when it was on cassette and listened to my cassette until it barely played. I think this CD is a work of art that Whitney can never touch this is absolutely her best work ever! If you like Whitney or gospel or even both you will love this CD!
Fabulous
This album is THEE very best Whitney has ever done...her voice is undeniably impeccable on every song... I don't think every single song has the same caliber of greatness...but her voice..that range...those tones...come through beautifully on every track. This album most certainly solidifies Whitney as one of the greatest pop vocalists in a very...very long time. The songs...and the way she works them sets her apart from all the rest...and again...I just cannot tire of listening to this CD. Any person who appreciates a fine tuned voice, a most incredible talent...a truly skilled musician...will appreciate listening to Whitney do 'her stuff'. Get the CD...get ready to enjoy!
This justifies her gospel roots so very well!
I loved this album! Whitney's mix of gospel and inspirational songs are fabulous here! I love her joyful Joy to The World and I go To the Rock. And Step By Step sounds very good here. This album goes back to her roots strongly, long before the big ballads and over the top performances that she's mostly known for. Stirring, moving, emotional and dramatic songs here!
