Reviews:

Best EP I own

Weezer released this EP sometime in late 1997, and it has since then been one of my favorite EPs. Boasting two b-sides, two acoustic live tracks, and the title track, it basically has it all. The best song on this EP is the fast paced I Just Threw Out The Love Of My Dreams, featuring the beautiful voice of ex-That Dog vocalist Rachel Haden. While strange to hear a Weezer song where Rivers is merely the back-up vocalist, the song does its duty as a traditional harmony filled, singable, melodic Cuomo creation. My second favorite track is Waiting On You. This one is rather slow paced, reminiscient of Butterfly in its speed and over all emotional content. The live tracks are pretty good too. For live recording fans, they'll recognize these tracks from the Shorecrest High show of november 6th 1996. What these add to a fan's collection are professionaly produced acoustic tracks/versions from a very successful and unique performance. It's always interesting to hear Weezer translate their upbeat classics into acoustic guitar-only songs. (Incidentally, in their newest tour in Japan, rumor has it they're playing an electric, full band version of Butterfly). Of course, the title track is itself amazing. The Good Life has been my second favorite Weezer song since I purchased Pinkerton in September 1996. All in all, the EP is worth every penny, whether the $12 it cost in 1997, or the $20 or so Amazon is asking now. Only a poor, second rate Weezer fan would miss out on this.

One of the best Ep's by far

The Good Life Ep is definately one of the best EPs I have ever heard. It boasts a great mix Emo Core style from the Pinkerton era of Weezer. Along with the Good Life single, also included are an acoustic version of the song, "Waiting On You" (one of the band's best B-sides), "I Just Threw Out the Love Of My Dreams" a collaboration between Weezer and the Rentals, and an acoustic version of "Pink Triangle". Any Alt-Rock fan should buy this one. If you are not a Weezer fan before hearing this you will become one.

Rock music at it's best.

If you love Weezer, or music, or rock music or anything....get this cd. It's faboo.
