Description: While it lacks some of the innocent charm of Pixar's similarly oceanic-themed
Finding Nemo, Dreamworks' computer animated fish opera works from a more adult source, spoofing Coppola's
The Godfather with an impressive array of all-star vocal talents. Its soundtrack may be one of the film's most consistently successful elements, a party-ready mix of contemporary r&b and hip-hop lite. Two of the highlights here are rooted in a 1970s disco groove: Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott take a slinky cruise through a beat-drenched take on "Car Wash," while Cheryl Lynn's "Got to Be Real" is given a soul-pumped turn by Mary J. Blige (featuring a new rap break by star Will Smith and healthy samples of Lynn's original). Other standouts include fan 3's infectious "Digits," the pop-reggae inflected "Three Little Birds" by Sean Paul and Ziggy Marley, India Arie's dusky, seductive "Get It Together" and the Ludacris workout "Gold Digger." An excerpt from Hans Zimmer's antic, suitably tongue-in-cheek orchestral underscore closes the collection out.

Songs
I liked the sound track but I have one problem. There was a ssong I heard in the movie that I want to know the title of. When the fish Oscar hid the vegetarian shark in the whale was the crab who claimed he was a financial advisor popped out of the dumpster and started talking. Then he said I have to go my show is on. I want to know the title of the theme to that show.
Get's old pretty fast except...
for Jojo's Secret Love. Wow. She blew everybody else out of the water with this one. She is the standout on this album. What a future she has!
Pop Tale
It's a rarity when a soundtrack comes along packed with new material and a stupendous line-up of artists. Shark Tale is exactly that. With many clamoring to target the young demographic by contributing to this bound-to-be-a-blockbuster movie, the line-up shines with stars.
Starting with the illustrious Christina Aguilera who joins forces with Missy Elliott on another soundtrack to remake another classic, this time it is Rose Royce's "Car Wash." The result is a rejuvenated version with a lot of pizzazz and great connection in the movie. This song works in every way making itself the standout.
Other contributing are the noisy D12 with "Lies & Rumours" and the ordinary Avant's "Can't Wait."
Pop hits are in abundance with "Good Foot" by Justin Timberlake and Timbaland and JoJo's "Secret Love," makes sure to cater to all the other 13 year-old who yearn to be her. While disco is further enlived beyond "Car Wash" with Mary J. Blige's ill-conceived rendition of "Got To Be Real" featuring Will Smith, who also offers the starring voice on the movie. Concidentally Cheryl Lynn, who is responsible for the original version of Blige's contribution, also offers a song on this soundtrack, "Sweet Kind Of Love." The voice is still there, but the towering dance beats are not.
Hans Zimmer offers instrumental humor on the closer "Some Of My Best Friends Are Sharks." While India.Arie delivers one of her warmest and most cleansing songs titled "Get It Together."
Sean Paul teams up with Ziggy Marly on "Three Little Birds," submitting a softer and funner side of reggae.
The Shark Tale soundtrack is a great collection of fun songs made for the kid population. It's worth a listen but hardly a keeper. Rip the tracks you like and return it.
