Description: Whereas the first two Austin Powers soundtracks concentrated on swinging-'60s mod, soul, and rock shagadelica, Goldmember shakes its '70s funk and disco groove thing. Angie Stone turns in a silky cover of "Groove Me," while Beyoncé Knowles belts "Work It Out" in fierce diva style over rickety but slinky beats. Soul Hooligan add cheesy vocoded vocals and synths to their version of Electric Light Orchestra's "Evil Woman"; Paul Oakenfold mashes up "A Fifth of Beethoven" with a dark, Mission Impossible-like melody; and the Rolling Stones' disco excursion "Miss You" is imbued with an intoxicating step-beat and throbbing strings by Dr. Dre. Even Mike Myers gets into the groove action, drolly spoofing Jay-Z's "Hard Knock Life" as Dr. Evil, to hilarious effect. But like the hedonistic '70s, there's not much substance underneath the songs. While understandable--Austin Powers isn't meant to be brain surgery--glitzy dance tracks by Foxxy Cleopatra, Britney Spears, and Oakenfold especially drag and become clunky. --Annie Zaleski

Reviews:

Good, but missing classics

this movie was hilarious and the soundtrack is good too. but, and this is a big but, this soudtrack in comparison to the previous two lacked the fun rock sound of the sixties and wasnt quite as booty shaking as the others. if your friend buys it, then have him/her burn it for you but dont waste your money.

Great Soundtrack.

I saw the movie. Then, I listened to the soundtrack. Boy, those songs were good. Not the best, but very good. I plan to buy it someday.

If you haven't listened to the soundtrack, listen to it. You just might enjoy it.

THE SONG

There is a song at the end of the movie that i have been looking for forever it is the song when austin and beyonce are walking out of the theater its the same song that was on the yogurt commercial with the construction workers if some knows it please email me the title and artist that would be awesome thanks!!!
