Great Compilation

I don't think there is one bad track on the entire CD. I never saw the movie, but LOVE this soundtrack. From ELVIS to Bobby DARIN, to Sneaker Pimps, this CD has it all. I loved it, very eclectic and just plain great music. BECK too!

Starting to sound dated

This used to be a 4-star album back when it first came out, but unlike other albums that seem to be built to withstand the test of time, the soundtrack to "A Life Less Ordinary" now sounds dated. Unfortunate indeed, considering how strong the opening is, with Beck's classic "Dead Weight", but in this case it is understandable why the used copies are flooding the Amazon marketplace.

surprisingly good

For a movie as notoriously lousy as A Life Less Ordinary, it bodes well for the continuing talent of director Danny Boyle that the music on here is so solid. It's definitely not all good - the stripped down version of REM's "Leave" and Prodigy's "Full Throttle" are nothing special. But the new ones that really work - the cuts by Sneaker Pimps, Beck, Luscious Jackson, Ash, and especially Folk Implosion's sleak "Kingdom of Lies" work great with the random Bobby Darin and Elvis inclusions. This compilation's a good time.
