Welcome remastering of some of the best of Vangelis
The film "Chariots of Fire" is a favorite of ours, and Vangelis' score is some of his best work--certainly it deserved the Oscar it won for best score.From the stately rendering of the hymn "Jerusalem" to the pulse-quickening theme "Main Titles", so evocative of the sport of running, this is a favorite cd of ours. Since the film dates back to 1982 (was is THAT long ago?) it's wonderful to have a clean, digital remastering of a favorite score. Just in time for this year's Olympics, too. The Chariots of Fire theme remains as popular as the theme from "Rocky"--up there with some of the finest movie theme music ever composed. Love it.
