Reviews:

Still kicks butt even without Schenker.

Note: This review was written about an album titled "Live In Texas". The album is a recording of the EXACT same concert featured on "Parker's Birthday". Furthermore, "Live In Texas" is a LEGALLY released album and is a soundboard recording but contains fewer songs than "Parker's Birthday". I am posting this review here since it DOES contain recordings from the EXACT same concert AND because it contradicts the only two current reviews about the performances of said concert.

---You can find a longer version of this concert on an album titled "Parker's Birthday" but the sound quality is not as good.

Songlist:

1)Electric Phase 2)Hot 'N' Ready 3)Pack It Up And Go 4)Cherry 5)Out In The Street 6)Let It Roll 7)Too Hot To Handle

The band is very tight. The sound quality is damn good. Chapman's guitar sounds crisp & beautiful. And, to his credit, he doesn't try to play the Schenker solos note-for-note (although he could, if he wanted to). He has his own style and is an excellent replacement for Schenker (far superior to all those guitarists who eventually replaced HIM).

Phil Mogg's vocals are right on the money. And, as I said, the entire band is very tight.

I am so glad that I have gotten over my prejudice against Paul Chapman. He really was a most worthy replacement of MS.

a bad bootleg of a great band

This album should never have been released. It is just a bad bootleg put on a cd.(it has 4 tracks, each track has 4 or so songs, each tack must have been a side of a bootleg vinyl record). This is a shame, since UFO was a great band. Buy "Strangers in the Night" great live album that captures UFO at its peak.

Disappointing

Why didn't UFO ever make it big in this country? After hearing this recording I know. A really great band with great songs that just sound flat. They play all the hits from the Michael Shenker era albums, but Paul Chapman sounds like he's just learning the songs. Mediocre recording quality. If you want a cool UFO album you haven't heard, try The Early Years collection.
