"Making Contact", One of the Greatest Rock Records EVER

"Making Contact" is my favorite U.F.O. record, and I think it's one of the greatest Hard Rock records ever recorded. Michael Schenker isn't on it and maybe that's why it sounds so great. I.M.H.O., Michael Schenker's song writing isn't as good as his guitar playing. Yes, great guitar playing is, of course, an essential ingredient for Hard Rock music, BUT so is great SONG WRITING!! The songs on "Making Contact" are INCREDIBLE because of the teaming of Phil Mogg (Vocals) and Neil Carter (Keyboards, Rythem Guitar, Bass Guitar and Vocals) who are credited for 7 of the 10 songs on this album. Melodic, yet still Hard and Powerful, every song ROCKS! Back in 1983 I went to a Talas concert (bassist Billy Sheehan's group before he joined David Lee Roth) and they played "DIESEL IN THE DUST" live, it was killer! So if you're into VERY WELL WRITTEN Melodic Hard Rock Songs, you should make contact with U.F.O.'s "MAKING CONTACT".

First of all i'm a die hard UFO fan,i own EVERY UFO album not just the michael shenker cd's...some of you fools reviewing the ufo albums without michael ..1) do the band a disservice 2)are smokin crack, and 3) are very inept in your musical judgement. While i'm a huge shenker fan he is far from the greatest guitar god,and i hate to break the news to ya's but for overall sound/effect and appeal paul chapmans just good as michael on many a song. That bein said MAKING CONTACT is one of the top five UFO albums MADE!!!! the top five UFO albums any fan should get are (PHENOMENON,LIGHTS OUT,NO PLACE TO RUN,MAKING CONTACT,and WALK ON WATER) along with the two live cd's BBC,and strangers in the night. Misdemeaner has some cool 80's guitar and is an attempt at mainstream(and they deserve to be mainstream) so who can blame them,and some of these songs are pretty cool...IF,I might add if you have an open mind (so that excludes most of you shenker diehards)............

WASTE OF TIME

UFO, is most cases, is a waste of time after Michael Schenker left. (itÂ's similiar to Marillion without Fish; Black Sabbath without Ozzy; Iron Maiden without Bruce; Aerosmith without Joe Perry, etc,etc,etc). THese albuns here, unfortunately, are no exception to the rule. They are bad, with Mogg writing cheesy lyrics.
