Reviews:

A must-have for fans of TechnoTori

I'm noticing a lot of negative criticism from Tori fans who don't seem to like techno music. These fans state that the remixes don't do the original song justice, that they take the meaning out of the lyrics.

On the contrary, these remixes give the songs a whole brand new feel that people who like techno/electronic music will certainly enjoy. The CD is 32.43 minutes in length - practically a full length CD. Each mix sounds different from the others, especially Hasbrouck Heights Club Mix (my personal fave) and Sugar Dub. Although they are all remixes of just the one song, you can listen to the entire CD all the way through and not feel repetitious.

So, if you are a fan of techno music and a fan of Tori Amos, get this CD! Even if you aren't a techno fan, but are a collector, get this CD! If you are one of those critical fans who feels they can only listen to the original version of a Tori song to capture its true essence and are not open to new variations.... don't expand beyond the original albums themselves.

Standing on a Corner in MUZAKland

In the springtime of his voodoo is a song to listen to when you feel as restless and desperate as a cat in heat but in a more celibate and poetic sorta way. it'll have you moaning unintelligible grunts that will make your neighbors wonder. But the techno remixes in my opinion are unsuccessful. They get a bit annoyingly muzak-like at times. "And I hate elevator music.." if you know what i mean. Definetely, DEFINETELY don't do the original version justice.

Sugar Dub rules !

I love this track, and I love the remixes. I'm really into remixes, love them. The "Hasbrouck Heights Club Mix" is really nice, just like the "HH Single Mix". But for me, the best one is the "Sugar Dub". It swings. It's really different from any kind of other Tori-remix, and it has a cool, jazzy sound to it. I love Tori her remixes. Too bad you can't get the God-remixes by Carl Craig anymore. I'm really interested in hearing them. And I've also heard there is an unrealesed "Horses"-remix. Too bad she hasn't realesed it. Anyway, love this one.
