Reviews:

A Must!!!

I Remember when this came out right after Motown 25&it was Great to have all of these Important songs on one set."I Want You Back","ABC","The Love You Save",I'll Be There"etc.. songs that are timeless.the Grooves&Vocals haven't Aged at all.in fact "I want You Back"&"ABC" have Been Sampled&Looped over the past Decade.Classic "Motown SOund".

Michael Jackson!!!

Motown at its best.

He sure could belt them out. There ain't a choir boy who could even come close. I don't think I will ever get over little Michael Jackson. (Sigh...)

What else can you say?

TEEN FUN

Great Songs And Performances includes the greatest hits by Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 from the late 60s and early 1970s. It is a nice mix of up-tempo squeaky pop like I Want You Back and Rockin' Robin with its cute vocals and catchy chorus, and slow ballads like Got To Be There and the poignant Ben, theme song to a movie about a rat. Every one one of the tracks was a chart hit and this sound of Motown seventies pop has aged reasonably well. It certainly has more personality than a lot of today's teen pop. Listening to this album brings back memories of The Osmonds, The Partridge Family and David Cassidy, among others. Who could have known then that Michael Jackson would become one of the greatest stars of the next two decades, and so controversial?
