Dark, moody, chilly but beautifully written and sung.

"Black Balloon" narrates a relationship that fails due to disturbing circumstances in the tradition of The Police's "Every Breath You Take" and U2's "With or Without You." The singer/songwriter captures the desperation of being helpless to stop someone's flirtation with danger. Reminiscent of the sad but beautiful "Name," a single from A Boy Named Goo, the album previous to Dizzy Up The Girl. Highly recommend purchasing the entire cd, not just this single.

Mystifying Melody, Intelligent Lyrics

I first heard the song on the car radio in Florida and I immediately asked who the band was or what the title of the song was. Later, I bought the single containing Black Balloon and Slide. I listen to it in my car and each time I play it, it seemed fresh and new. It's the background sound of my home page (midi).
