Reviews:

Fabulous ~ timeless singer

One of a kind if you like Shirley Bassey this has been made well and is wonderful.

Unbelievable beats!!!

The revved-up samba opening of "Goldfinger" is a mind-blowing delight! Recreated by the Propellerheads who so ingeniously shot Shirley to millineum fame with "History Repeating" from their trip-hop cd, "DecksDrumsAndRockAndRoll," show what "arrangement" is all about!
The THREE separate versions of Jim Morrison's "Light My Fire" are just about the weirdest thing I've ever heard because of the seeming incongruency of the Lounge Lizard original sung by a caberet belter, but these remixes uncover the parallel campiness of Morrison's and Bassey's very separate deliveries!!
After "Goldfinger," the best cut is the wah-wah acid-trip of "Spinning Wheel," a true spaced-out marriage of medium and message.
The ONLY reason this sweet cd gets 4 and not 5 stars from me is the short-shrift given to my favorite John Barry song, "Moonraker." The lyrics and melody are transcendent, but they are forgone in favor of an tiresome repetition of the opening couplet combined with space-speak transmissions from astronauts.
Grab this genre-bending, time-traversing, technology-condensing collection and start your trip!
