Description: From 1989 to 1991, Roxette dominated the charts with a string of super-dramatic hits. "Listen to Your Heart," "It Must Have Been Love," "Fading like a Flower"--classics all, and they're all here, along with much else. Their ballads don't always follow the duo's comic dictum—Don't bore us, get to the chorus." "Queen of Rain," with its moving oboe breaks, takes time to grow, as does the string-laden "Crash! Boom! Bang!" There are misses here, too, notably "You Don't Understand Me," co-written with hit-maker Desmond Child, and "Salvation" sounds like a collage of other people's work. Fortunately, the two new tracks--"A Thing About You" (sung by songwriter Per Gessle) and "Breathe"--are sweet and strong enough to repair the damage. --Dominic Wills

Fantastic Album

I Recently just heard some of Roxette's other songs other then their hit "It Must Have Been Love" and i have to tell you, they are the most beautiful songs. I love ballads, and their ballads have catchy lyrics and not to mention Marie has a beautiful voice. I just recently purchsed this cd and i was absolutely astonished to find myself listening to the cd all the way through. It's a rare occurance to find a cd that you like all of the songs and don't skip at least one song. I highly recommend this album to anyone that enjoys decent music.

Great Album

I just discovered Roxxette hearing the song it must have been love. I searched eight months for the artist of the song Roxxette and ordered the album its great she has a sensational voice.

the best ballads

i cant think of another band that has consistenly released so many beautiful ballads. one after the other.now they're all here in one collection. unfortunatly roxette doesn't have the success they used to in america. but can you think of anyone that doesn't love "listen to your heart" or "it must have been love"?
