Not all that bad
This album is kinda weird, its good but it doesn't live up to the other Ramones albums, its NOT better than "Animal boy", its pretty solid but mediocre at the same time. the production is great, Daniel Rey is a great producer.
1.I Wanna Live- 10/10- This is a great song, good beat. one of the best on the album.
2.Bop Til You Drop- 9/10- Another great song, heavy, good.
3.Garden of Serenety- 10/10- This song has grown on me over the years, I really like it, the lyrics are great, a little different feel to it.
4.Weasle Face- 8/10- Most of this song is Awesome, I really like the verses, but I don't really care for the way the chorus is sung, still one of my favorites on the album.
5.Go Lil Camero Go- 8/10- Great classic Ramones style song but I can't stand the "ooh mow mow's", would be a 10 without those.
6.I Know Better Now- 10/10- I love this song, one of my favorite Ramones songs, Great drums, great vocals, written by Ritchie.
7. Death of Me-9/10- very cool song, pretty straight foward.
8. I Lost My Mind-7/10 Not nearly as good as any other Dee Dee sung song, But it still rocks hard and it has also grown on me, its short and sweet.
9. Real cool time-9/10- another classic Ramones song. good stuff
10. I'm Not Jesus- 6/10- Another Rithie written song, not that good but not all that bad either, I really like the middle break with the quiet talking over the music and the rest is kinda mediocre. good riffs though.
11. Bye Bye Baby- 7/10- There is something I really like about this song, and then again its really long and boring, I'm usually a sucker for Ramones love songs but this is really slow, its good though, I have mixed feelings on this one.
12. Worm Man- 2/10- The main riff is kinda cool and thats about it, this is probably the worst Ramones song ever. I've tried many times but I can't get into this one.
I wouldn't recommend this as a first album, get one of the other ones, and if your looking for late 80's Ramones start off with "Animal Boy". I do however Recommend this to any fan of the Ramones, its worth listening to and its a must have for your collection.
RIP Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee.
The most underrated album on Earth!
What's wrong with this album, guys? This is perhaps their best album released in the 80's. Just listen to "I wanna line", "The garden of serenity" and notice how good this album is.
R.I.P Joey, Dee Dee, Johnny
This is NOT "the Ramones best album"!!
Somebody comments on the "Classic" songs like "I Wanna Live", and man, when that came out, it was just WEAK. Johnny never liked it, because he didn't do much of the guitar work on the recording, and couldn't play it live. The Dee Dee Lyrics are okay, but when you got all the other Ramones albums, Halway To Sanity is merely "blah".
Good moments are "Worm Man", "Go Little Camaro", and the ONLY "classic" song on this album, the often overlooked gem "Bop 'Til You Drop".
Buy the re-issues, man!
