Reviews:
Best '80's Rainbow effort!
Yeah, it's true... Rainbow was losing attention and respect among the gurus of the hard rock empire by 1982, but "Straight Between the Eyes" should not be overlooked! Blackmore's stunning virtuosity is apparent here on the solos in "Tearin' Out My Heart" and "Eyes of Fire." Also true, the themes and lyrics are getting tired and Joe Lynn Turner ain't Dio, but this album shouldn't be so quick to be panned (all you out there)!
Good Album
I really like this album. And I think you will like it to. The song Dead Ally Driver is very freakin' good. So, if I were you, I would buy it. There is only one boring song: 'Tite Squeeze'. But the rest is super good. My favorite songs on this album are: 'Dead Ally Driver', 'Bring on the Night', 'Power' and 'Rock Fever'. The rest is also very good, but these are the best. If you are a fan of Rainbow, then you must have it. Even if you aren't a Rainbow fan, you should still buy it. The prise you must pay for the album is low for such a great album. So buy this cd, and enjoy it. Listen it every day, and sing with the music. Highly recommended!
kind of a good album
Even though this album was one of Rainbow's worst,I still think that Stone Cold is a good song. The album's name kind of pulled me in.
Very good !
I liked "straight between the eyes" a lot better then the previous album,"difficult to cure"(although that wasn't bad either). it is a solid album all the way though and joe lynn turner is a decent vocalist and does an honest job here. this is a far cry from the mid 70's Rainbow that featured the "royal roar" (ronnie james dio) but it is a very good hardrock album nontheless. there are only a few fillers on this album (2 or 3) while the rest is quality hardrock in the form of "death alley driver" "stone cold" "tite squeeze" "bring on the night" "power" ect. i find this album quiet enjoyable to listen to now and then. with Rainbow being my all time favorite rock band, i musy say that this is a good album at best, not great, because it is not even in the same universe as their debut, "rising" and "long live rock n roll" are. this album is more like a 80's mainstream version of "down to earth" with a way more commercial rock feel to it. overall, this album is a good/solid slice of early 80's hardrock, thats all it is, no more no less,to be enjoyed.
YEAH!
I love this cd! I think this is the best album by rainbow with Joe Lynn Turner. Ofcours, not the best of all Rainbow-albums, cause you can't top the Dio years. But it's certainly a good one! The album kickjs off with my favorite track of the whole album. Great guitarplay on the song and Joe Lynn Turner sings very well. The rest of the songs are very good too, but there all not as good as 'Dead Alley Driver'. My second favorite track on the album is 'Power'. Very good song, and my third-favorite song is 'Rock Fever'. The rest of the album is ofcours very good too, those three song were just the best of the album. So, I really recommend this album, it's a great album and the best of Joe Lynn Turners. If you want to spend your money on good music, then this is your change! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I hope this review was helpfull to you!
