Reviews:
An Amazing Collection of Excellent Tunes!
I have owned Queen Live Killers since the Summer of 1981 and it gets better each time I listen to it! From the very first lyric in "We will rock you" that leads in to "Let me entertain you", this is a true magical musical tour for the ages. Get into the mood when "Death on two legs" begins the medley that I never tire of listening to at least once a week! This album has kept me young. I assure you that you will love this collection of Queen's finest work. Highlights are the medley on side one, "Love of my life" leading into the band introduction by Brian May and then the incredibly moving "39".
Check out the live versions of "We will rock you/We are the champions" and then fall in love with the musical genius that is "Keep yourself alive", but don't hold your breath for "Bohemian Rhapsody" that loses something in the live translation.
This is one for everyone's collection and if you buy it and don't like it, I'll personally buy it back from you!
Enjoy,
Steve
Don't Stop Them Now!
Queen's most famous and best live album is deinitely "Live Killers". It starts with classic "We Will Rock You" and closes with "We Are the Champions/ God Save the Queen". Freddie Mercury puts almost his best and there's huge classics permormed..."Killer Queen", "Death on Two Legs", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Don't Stop Me Now" etc. The audience can sing too but for example in "Bicycle Race" their voices can't be heard. There's strange song selection also: "Dreamers Ball", "Get Down, Make Love", and "'39" aren't the best that Queen has to offer. There's only one song from "Queen". That's "Keep Yourself Alive"...and there's no songs from "Queen II"...there should have been at least three songs from it. The choir parts in "Bohemian Rhapsody" comes from the tape...its sounds quite silly.

Queen Live in the 70s
Queen Live Killers is the only late 70's document of Queen's ascent as one of the world's anthemic rock bands. Though Freddie Mercury's vocals are strained at times (he avoids hitting the high notes we're accustomed to hearing in the studio versions) - the overall repertoire of the show and atmosphere make this one of the most interesting Queen albums and showcase the band's killer abilities to play live.
Encompassing their repertoire up to "Jazz" - my favourite songs on this are: "Don't Stop Me Now" ; "You're My Best Friend"'; "Dreamers Ball"; "We Will Rock You / We are the Champions" and several more - all in all, the most impressive thing about this album is the sheer range of songs that Queen performed live.
Although recorded from several Queen concerts - this album successfully captures the excitement and atmosphere of being at a Queen concert. For many of us who haven't been there - Live Killers does a good job of putting you there. It's grown with me over time and will probably grow with you as well.
