Early Como, Live From Radioland!

This easily overlooked gem is a generous collection combining Como classics such as "Till the End of Time" and "Prisoner of Love" with less often heard but no less precious titles like "It's the Talk of the Town", "Love Letters", and "Te Quiero". New to me was "All Through the Day", a charming Hammerstein/Kern selection. Although these are radio transcriptions from the 1940s, the sound quality is excellent with the young Como's voice soaring over the competent studio orchestra.
My only quibble is that the modest liner notes fail to indicate the dates of the recordings, however, 1945 might be a good approximation. Como fans and collectors should not hesitate to snap this one up---it's a standout in a crowded field.
