Reviews:

Oh my God...

For once, a Nine Inch Nails tribute doesn't suck! This tribute is actually quite good, it only slightly sucks in about 2 tracks. The songs and their ratings are as thus...

1. Anachromatic-"Burn", Ok...THIS is the good cover of Burn, not done by a female, and remotely sounds like the Nine Inch Nails original track. The only real different is ofcourse instrumentals, which will always differ in tributes, but the instrumentals in this sound alot like the originals. Then the fact that it sounds like the verses themselve instead of spoken (as Trent does) are sung. Despite those differences, this song is good. It gets a 10/10.

2. Substance-"Heresy", This song remains true to the song Heresy, 10 fold. This is possibly one of the best tracks on the damn album! Starts off a bit calm and slow..but soon evolves into a hardcore thrashdance song. The singers voice kind of sucks, think of Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins mixed with a bit of that guy from Soft Cell, and there you have it, his voice. It actually sounds good, during the chorus though, so it goes back to an up point. This also gets a 10/10

3. Bile-"Happiness in Slavery", Well kids, this song actually put a damn smile on my face! This is the closest thing to the real song you're going to get. The vocals are almost the same, and the instrumentals rule! The only flaw is they do the chorus the same, twice, whereas Trent changes it the 2nd time. Overall, this gets a 15/10, for this is THE BEST on this tribute!

4. Wormhole-"Starfu*kers, Inc.", This song was reworked nearly in its entirety. If this were to be on "The Downward Spiral" this is probably how it'd sound. Instrumentally it's different, and its got somewhat of a slower tempo, and the vocals are somewhat hard to stand at times. I gave this an 8/10 because it sounds like it belongs on rather "The Downward Spiral" or "Things Falling Apart." This doesn't remain much true to the original.

5. Transient-"Big Main With a Gun", Not much to say, this song loops purposely about twice, it's slower than the original, but still sounds pretty damn good. I give it a 9/10 because it's just..slow.

6. Owl-"March of the Pigs", The second track that really put a huge smile on my face, I love this track! This has all the intensity of the original March of the Pigs, and the vocals on this track RULE! This remains true, but in itself adds its very own intensity, you HAVE to hear this track! 15/10, Second BEST track on the tribute!

7. Nocturne-"Kinda I Want To", For a girl, the vocals on this song were done quite well. I also like the instrumentals, although they really sound nothing like they do on the NIN version. Still, this song gets a 10/10 for a great effort at this song.

8. Razorblade Smile-"Head Like a Hole", WOAH, remember the last tribute to this song, how it sounded all jazzy? Well forget that piece of garbage and listen to this version, this sounds damn good! The instrumentals are kinda tacky, not a big fan of them, but Hell, atleast it's not jazz. This song's been reconstructed a bit, sounds like it's being performed by Orgy too, in a way. I give it a 9/10, because its instrumentals kind of suck.

9. The Razor Skyline-"Hurt", Bleh..I like the other tribute to this song ALOT more, the vocals for this song just weren't ment for a female. But, I do dig the instrumentals alot. I give this a 5/5, for its instrumentals. Heh..maybe next time eh?

10. Anno Daemonicus-"Reptile", Woah...this sounds like Reptile gone Black Metal! This was odd the first time around, but when I listened to it again, I thuroughly enjoyed it. This group sounds like Cannibal Corpse, meets Dimmu Borgir. I give it a 10/10 because it's really good, but takes a listen or two, to get used to.

11. Transient-"Terrible Lie", Ahh, Transient hath returned at a 2nd try, and thank God they did. Their rendition of Terrible Lie is almost top notch, I absolutely love this, this is honestly how this song should be tributed. Although I do like KMFDM's rendition of it alot more. This gets a 10/10, fans of the original song won't be disappointed in this remake.

12. Wormhole "Into the Void/The Day the World Went Away", Woah, big title..anyway, this is an alright track. Definantly not the best, but it's a good remix..yes, remix, it mixes the 2 songs together, starts out with ITV, then TDTWWA kicks in while "Tried to save myself but myself keeps slipping away" is said in the background. This gets a 9/10, because it's not as good as made out to be, and the complete and utter beauty of The Day the World Went Away, isn't showing at all on this.

All in all, for once, a NIN tribute doesn't suck major ass to me! Get this, it's the best of the NIN tribs you'll ever find!

This is garbage

If there was a negative star scale, it would be more appropriate. This is absolute crap. Trent should feel insulted that sh*tty industrial bands are trying to ride on his coat-tails and so should NIN fans. DO NOT BUY THIS ALBUM. don't even think about it. Just listen to the original NIN versions.

tributes are mostly something you can 'say' you own...

I own five NIN tribute albums, and I never really listen to any of them. but I just gave them all a listen again, and I think this is the best among them. which is not saying much. the only cover I like on here is the one by anno daemonicus (latin for 'year of the demons'?) some kind of black metal band. but then the only reason I like it is probably because it reminds me of a 'Cannibal Corpse' album called "the bleeding", so I can see why others find this track unpalatable. I like syncretism, so the final track which was a cover of 'into the void' & 'the day the world went away' together was alright as well. anyway, only buy if you are an extreme fan who doesn't mind that they just purchased a permanent place filler for their CD shelf.
