Nemo - no, not the fish.

You're probably wondering like I was whether Nemo Pt.1 (this is just the normal version as opposed to this limited edition)is better than this one. The answer is Pt.1. While this edition has a video, it's not a DVD video and you can just download the Nemo video for free from www.metalstorm.ee. The normal edition has more songs and 'White Night Fantasy' which is not on the 'Once' album. While Nemo is a terrific song, if you want the video, buy the DVD single or the normal Nemo single. There is also a video on the normal version which I find a bit more enjoyable than the Nemo video clip. The video is a collection of shots taken behind the scenes of Nemo and is played to 'White Night Fantasy'.

Nemo Pt. 2

Being an avid Nightwish fan I find it necessary to get my hands on everything I can concerning Nightwish. The latest Nemo singles are no exception. Although I purchased Pt. 2 after Once came out, I have had Pt. 1 since it's initial release in Finland. Although the first single was quite awesome considering it came out before Once, Pt. 2 really lives up to being a better single. I usually don't go through song-by-song in my reviews but for this review I think I will.



01. Nemo - This is basically your average Nightwish song with a little bit of a heavier edge. Here you have the typical intro/verse/chorus song-structure with the usual Nightwish chord-progression. In other words, if you're a fan of Nightwish's older albums you're going to enjoy this song as it sticks pretty close to their usual formula.



02. Live To Tell The Tale - This song rules! This is the main reason I bought Pt. 2 other than for collection's sake and the video. I can see why they didn't include this one on Once as it definitely would sound out of place. However, don't worry! Don't think I made that comment because I thought the song is bad or something - it's not at all, actually, it's quite awesome! Live To Tell The Tale is a bit hard to describe as there really isn't much other Nightwish material out there similar to it. Well, there is ... but ... there isn't. Yeah, I know, this is not good review-writing but listen for yourself and see what I'm talking about about this great song! ;-)



03. Nemo (Orchestral Version) - Call me crazy but I prefer the orchestral version of Nemo to the original. This orchestral version is so majestic and beautiful that it has brought me to tears - quite amazing! Keep in mind I didn't buy Pt. 2 for this as it's also on Pt. 1!



04. Nemo (Music Video) - Woah! I really was impressed with this video. I remember looking at the "Making of" pictures via the Nightwish website and thinking "Man, I wish I could see this!" Well, now I have seen it and it's incredible - take my word for it.



Well, that's it. If you're a dedicated Nightwish fan like myself you really should get this for the extra song as well as the awesome video and orchestral version of Nemo (if you don't have Pt. 1). Enjoy it!
