This is another CD in the "Then And Now" series... as is often (but not always) the case, the music on the "compilation" is taken from 2 albums: in this case, the poorly recorded "Back In The Trenches" is represented by the first 6 tracks on this disc, and each of these live versions will cause you to run and put on the studio version in order to soothe your brain and remember how those songs are supposed to sound.
The next 6 tracks on "Then And Now" are taken from the 1999 album "Boogaloo". An album that had it's ups and downs, but any track from that album sounds better than the live recordings taken from "Back To The Trenches" (and no, the fact that the live tracks date back to the early 80's is no excuse!)
I suggest you stay away from this disc: it's not a "best of", it doesn't cover a wide array of albums either... quite useless.
I'm sure some people will look at the track listing thinking they'll be putting their hands on a "fresh" greatest hits: trust me, this ain't it... not by a long shot. Only buy this if you find the cover irresistible, and then again, perhaps a used copy will do the trick!
