Description: Michael Jackson's
Thriller is the bestselling album of all time, with 45 million worldwide sales powered by seven Top 10 U.S. singles and eight Grammy Awards. The 1982 album was also a success from which the pop superstar never really recovered--subsequent albums seemed to have no other goal than to beat the records set by
Thriller. The highly-polished sound of Quincy Jones's production sounds almost organic compared to Jackson's more recent work, and in the same regard,
Thriller was significantly slicker than its predecessor,
Off the Wall. Both albums established a Jackson style that aimed for the dance floor with songs built on a state-of-the-art bed of percussion and keyboards. Elements of milestone
Thriller tracks like "Billie Jean" (arguably Jackson's best-ever performance) and "Beat It" (with its hard-rock solo by guitarist Eddie Van Halen) influenced not just Jackson's records, but those of the entire dance-pop world. On the song "Thriller," Jackson indulged his taste for the juvenile and invited Vincent Price to rap in a really scary voice. With
Thriller the album, Jackson created a different kind of monster--a hit album of such magnitude that it would have an irrevocable impact not just on the singer's art, but on his altogether kooky life.

Reviews:
STILL THE WORLDS BEST-SELLING ALBUM
Thriller is still the greatest album of all time. This album alone sold well 60 million copies worldwide and won a minimum of eight grammy awards, and spent 37 weeks at #1 on the Billboard
charts. Wow. No wonder Thriller is the greatest-selling album of all time. This album made m.j. a phenomenon, and one of the most recognizible stars in the world. I love this album. All the tracks are excellent! My four favorites are: 1. Wanna Be Startin
Something( excellent dance track!) 3. The Girl Is Mine( very nice
duet with former Beatles star Paul McCartney.) 5. Beat It( the
song that pushed the album to become a pop culture phenomenon, with Eddie Van Halens unforgettable wicked guitar solo that totally rocks!!, and the revolutionary groundbreaking music video that came along with it.) 6. Billie Jean( the song that became a pop culture sensation, and landed michael at the highest peak of his career. This song is notably famous for michaels moonwalk, ( a dance that forever became and remain one of his tradmarks for years to come) and the groundbreaking music video that came along with it. ) 7. Human Nature( I love this song so much I could play it forever.) Besides Beat It and Billie Jean, Human Nature is one of my all-time favorites of favorites. Its so beautiful and relaxing, and michael sounds so
gorgous on it. Human Nature is one of those songs that moves you.
I mean, once you hear it makes you to just want to close your
eyes, sit back and relax and let your mind be at ease in care-
free state of mind .) (Thats how extremely beautiful Human Nature
is.) Even though theres only nine songs on this album, every one
is a killer knock-out. Michael changed the face of music and
MTV forever, with this album . No other album in the world has ever changed the face of music history forever with thriller.
This album is indeed very special, and Michael Jackson will always be remembered for making this album the phenomenon that it is. Don't wait. Go out there and purchase this all time classic masterpiece today! Nothing tops it.

Thriller
These days we are bombarded with images and ill tempered critiques that continuously help solidify Michael Jackson's place as the world's most ridiculed entertainer. Though his recent pajama wearing dates in court have made it easy and even tempting to laugh at him, it is important to remember that there was a time when this man was the heart and soul of American popular music. It is sad that the newer generation has only been exposed to the negative side of Michael, while his very generous contribution to soul, rock, and R & B has been calously pushed to the side. If you take a listen to Thriller today, it will still sound just as fresh as it did in '83. In fact it will still blow away any of the recent pop competition. This is an album that was meticulously written by Michael and Quincy Jones so that it would appeal to all age ranges, all colors, and pretty much anything that moves. It has an eclectic range of sounds, fusing metal with disco (as he did on Beat It), or combining haunted house antics with larger than life hooks (as he does on the title track). The best song here, however, is the Jackson penned Billie Jean, in which he bombards you with so many hooks from every single direction that the listener is rendered speechless by pure pop music ecstasy. The other great track is the often overlooked and humble Human Nature, where Michael gives one of his most earnest vocals. The only thing really worth avoiding here is the cheesy The Girl is Mine duet with Paul McCartney. Nevertheless, this album gets five stars. There's nothing wrong with shamelessly perfect pop music.
