Description: Off the Wall made music history. Not only was it the release that signaled the arrival of Michael Jackson as a major talent outside the Jackson Five, it was the first record by a solo artist to contain four Top 10 hits. "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," "Rock with You," "Off the Wall," and "She's out of My Life" were essential listening in the late '70s and early '80s. The release also contains the kinetic "Working Day and Night" and "Burn This Disco Out." Paul McCartney contributes "Girlfriend." Thanks to Quincy Jones's production, it was still all about the music back then. The artistry Jackson exhibited on
Off the Wall still amazes. Avoiding the shallow excesses of most of the period's disco, Jackson's dance rhythms here are made all the more powerful by Jackson's vocal restraint.

Reviews:
Burn these discos out!
Before this album,Michael Jackson had minor success as a solo artist. He enjoyed abundant success with his brothers as the Jackson Five and later, the Jacksons. Since the Jacksons were dropped from the Motown label and had signed with Epic,MJ stuck with this label to this day. On the cover,MJ sports a tuxedo, leaning against a brick wall. DON'T STOP 'TIL YOU GET ENOUGH debuted on the radio in July 1979. MJ wore the tuxedo in the music video also. In addition to that song, hits that appeared on 1995's HISTORY are ROCK WITH YOU and SHE'S OUT OF MY LIFE. The title track should have been on HISTORY also. I also like WORKING DAY AND NIGHT and Paul McCartney's GIRLFRIEND. Later,ex-Beatle McCartney would join forces with MJ for THE GIRL IS MINE and SAY SAY SAY. This album is a Quincy Jones production and the more successful follow-up THRILLER would be also. Back in '79,MJ wasn't yet the King Of Pop and one of the biggest-selling pop/rock artists. The other songs are incredible.
Mr. Jackson is off the chain
I've yet in my 26 years of existence to see or hear of an act comparable to Micheal Jackson. Perhaps that can be easily seen as favortism and tunnel vision but I think easily millions would agree. With that having been said Off the Wall is a tremendous album. You can literally put it own and dance yourself "off the wall"(pun gladly intended)! From Get on the floor, working day and night to burn this disco out and of course the Title track Off the wall you can't help but get on the floor and jam. For slow jams look no further than Girlfriend, She's out of my life(great one), It's the falling in love and one of my favorites I Can't help it! You just can't help feeling good about good music and a Terriffic talent and individual. Mr. Jackson hat's off to you and thank GOD for having put you on earth. I believe people off all ages can and will enjoy this album of "GREAT, CLEAN, AND FUN MUSIC FROM AN AMAZING PERSON"!
talented pedophile
ever since i was a little boy and my family had a copy of thriller i realized that was something quite strange about wacko jacko, i personally do not know if the accusations of child molestation are true but i have an inkling that they are. Michael seems to have a complex where he thinks the whole world is conspiring against him, he has even said that he is the victim of racism, racism, what race is he anyway how can you be racist against an ambiguous semi human, he's like a gray, you know one of them "aliens". anyway i believe he is a sick individual, and his numerous nose operation are a result of an extreme coke addiction. but anyway this record is actually pretty good if while you listen to it you kind of block out the thoughts of a sick pervert molesting little boys. all thogh if you play the song "rock with you" backwards you can distinctly hear jackson say "i love little boys, their semen makes me immortal!"
