In my opinion Madonna's Best Dance Song
Vogue is my favorite Madonna song, when it came out in May 1990 it was a new sound in the dance floors around the world, bringing back a dance style (vogueing) that was undeground so far.
The song stayed at Number 1 for 3 weeks and sold eventually almost the 6 millions singles around the world.
The Singles has 4 tracks, the Single Version that I really, the 12" version (8.19 mins), the Bette Davis dub (7.24 mins) and the Strike-a-pose Dub (7.37 mins), all mixed by the great Shep Pettibone (who will be a grear influence in her next Album Erotica).
I always tought that for the success of this song more mixes were due, 3 were too little for me, they could play more with this song to come up with more mixes of it, but anyway I lo ve the song and love the video, so 40s that you feel you are there with them dancing.
Oh My God I love This Song
Oh my God, everytime I hear this song I go crazy. I remember listening to it in the early 90's and then on. Strike a pose is my favorite opening line. The video is absolutely amazine and stunning on the Girlie Show and Reinvention Tour. This is my favorite maxi single of all time. It tells us basically to dance and Vogue. I have the whole song memorized. Love you Madonna!!!
Strike A Pose, There's Nothin' to It Vogue
I must say, that this song is one of Madonna's best!!
This single is a great single, too.
1) Single Version: Just the Edit Version, w/o the 1:00 of music at the begining, it just goes straight into the beat of Vogue and Madonna says "What are you looking at" and "Vogue" a few times, then the song begins.
2) 12" Version: This is proably the best mix on this cd. It is nothing more than an extended remix clokcing in at 8:19.
3) Bette Davis Dub: This version sounds much like the 12" version, but in dub form. Not the best mix.
4) Stike-a-Pose Dub: This dud sounds a little different from the Bette Davis Dub, but not enough to be a different track.
Vogue is of Madonna's best songs! I do wish that there would have been remixes that sounded different from each other and differnt from the orginial.
