Reviews:
Great remixes
Great remixes of Madonna's new single 'Nothing Really Matters.' Many people say there are too many Club 69 mixes on this disc, (6) but they are different varieties. Besides these 6 fabulous remixes, it also includes the rare and main concern, the Album Version plus mixes by Kruder & Dorfmeister (also known as 'K&D') and Talvin Singh Vikram.
Here is the full tracklisting and some comments:
01 4.27 Album Version - Great song to be released for a single
02 7.51 Club 69 Vocal Club Mix - Great mix of an already great song
03 8.19 Club 69 Future Mix - An excellent and popular Club 69 mix
04 8.00 Club 69 Phunk Mix - Sounds like the Future Mix
05 10.35 Club 69 Speed Mix - The best mix on the whole CD!! (I'm listening to it now, as I write!!)
06 11.10 Kruder & Dorfmeister Mix - Excellent mix. Some good & new sounds in this mix
07 7.43 Vikram Mix - Great!! A really good mix full of weird sounds!!
08 5.48 Club 69 Future Dub - Back to Peter Rauhofer!! Just a dub of the Future Mix
09 3.45 Club 69 Radio Mix - A radio friendly mix. Fab!!
As well as this, I also reccomend the fabulous US Maxi's for Music and Don't Tell Me!!
Love is all we need...
In line with the introspective album Ray Of Light, the final single off the album Nothing Really Matters is also a revelatory single in which Madonna confessed about being self-centered in the past and finally she's beginning to embrace the notion of love and karma.
On this fantatsic maxi-single, also the last good one from Madonna, there are 9 remixes, most of which are hemlmed by Club 69 (Peter Rauhofer) and one by Talvin Singh and another by groove master Kruder and Dorfmeister. The Club 69 mixes are mostly the same except for some minor revisions in each, some made for radio, some for the clubs, but ultimately, it's remixed into a very danceable anthem that's more upbeat than the original.
The Vikram Mix is mixed with a slight middle-eastern Indian sound and comes across very chillout.
The best mix comes from Kruder and Dorfmeister which presents the song as an electronic ambient piece which brings a fresh contrast aginst the original.
Of course, there's the exceelent original version as well. A pity that this wasn't properly promoted to radio, it could have been a much bigger hit in the US.
Overall, this is a very good maxi.

This is one of the best Madonna Maxi Singles along with others like Don't Tell Me, Music and Nothing Fails/Nobody Knows Me etc... The remixes do great justice to the original but the original itself is already good. The best remixes come from Kruder And Dorfmeister & Club 69 (Speed) but they are all excellent. If you can get this single it is very essential to any Madonna fans that want some great remixes. Also buy the other great Maxis mentioned above.
