Reviews:

Dreaming wide awake ...

Loreena McKennitt's music -- and her otherworldly voice -- are a rare gift. Surely her music is "Celtic", but so many other influences are incorporated here -- and the amazing thing is how well they mesh. I've never been lucky enough to catch any of her live performances, but this 2-CD set captures what the atmosphere must be like at one of her concerts: a dreaming, oceanic, passionate, and haunting (yes, I have to use that word!) few hours spent in the company of a phenomenally talented artist and her traveling band, completely simpatico with her musical sensibilities. Highly recommended. If the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood had a soundtrack, Loreena McKenitt's music would surely be on it.

Hauntingly Beautiful

Having not heard Loreena McKennitt before other then the Mummers dance I was amazed at the quality of her voice. It is Hauntingly Beautiful.

The songs are interesting and have great melodies that fit perfectly togeather with Her voice. If you are a fan of triditional style music then this is a must for the collection.

Incredible

This CD is truly amazing! Never having been able to attend a Loreena concert myself, I had doubts about how her music would translate in a live format. This lady and her troupe are incredible! I can close my eyes now and pretend. Her voice is hypnotic. The musicians are the best!! Thank you, Loreena McKennitt for sharing this gift.
