Description: Recorded on the Dallas date of the 2003 Summer Sanitarium arena tour, with Metallica, Limp Bizkit, et. al,
Live in Texas is a concise, no-frills two-disc DVD/CD souvenir of the muscular Linkin Park live experience. 5.1 Surround Sound captures every nuance of Brad Delson's explosive guitar, the incendiary turntable flourishes of DJ Joseph Hahn, and the interplay between MC Mike Shinoda and singer Chester Bennington (although the audience sing-along on "Numb" gets lost across the barricades), as the sextet runs through a tight set of selections drawn exclusively from its bestsellers
Hybrid Theory and
Meteora, with the big hits ("Crawling," "In the End") programmed toward the climax. Casual fans may grumble about the absence of extras--there's no backstage-with-the-band documentary or viewing angle options, no previously unreleased songs--but hardcore devotees (who get plenty of face time on the DVD) should appreciate the opportunity to revisit the thrills of Linkin Park in concert whenever they wish.

Reviews:
And to think I used to like this crap!
I used to be like Cotton Hell and The Blind Crow. I used to be a huge LP fan, until one fateful day...I realized that they suck. One time, someone said they're an extremely talented band. It made me laugh. Dream Theater is an extremely talented band. James LaBrie is an epic singer. John Pretucci has guitar solos that LP's guitarist can't even DREAM of playing them. Mike Portnoy has drumm patterns that are light years ahead of anything LP's drummer can do. John Myung has great bass-lines YOU CAN HEAR, but I doin't think LP's bassist's bass is plugged in. Kevin Moore can do some keyboard solos that sound like f$#%ed up guitar solos. Listen to Dream Theater: They were the band that made me realize LP sucks, and I hope they do the same to you LP fans. PS, they (LP) suck live!
Linkin Park Live: What an experience!
And all I can say is I am so happy and glad that I did purchase this twin set CD/DVD from Linkin Park on tour during 2003 with Limp Biskit and Metalica. 'Live In Texas' actually Dallas is a work of art and for any hardcore fan of Linkin Park this is the Digi-pack for you!
The first CD comprises of 12 audio tracks drawn from Linkin Park's first two albums 'Hybrid Theory' and 'Meteora'. There are no new song releases on this CD just a remix of Pushing Me Away (Track 8). The hits of 'Somewhere I belong' and 'Crawling' and 'One Step Closer' are included on this audio CD.
CD 2 is actually the DVD of the actual concert and it is filmed expertly and gets the band action full on as well as the crowd moshing and jumping to the music. What an exhilarating feeling. All in all there are 18 songs in the concert with live powerful performances of 'Faint', 'By Myself', 'Numb' and 'In the End'.
A must for any new or old fan of Linkin Park. I thoroughly enjoyed this feast of viewing pleasure to the senses.
They Suck As Much Live
I used to be exactly like The Blind Crow. I used to like Linkin Park. Now I realize that they have ripped off Machine Head, a kick-ass metal band. Here's something for you to do:
If you want to get off your ass:
1. Go to a record store nearby
2. Look under the "M" section
3. Buy Machine Head's "Hellalive"
4. Buy Linkin Park's "Live In Texas" (used)
5. Listen to the two. Which one sounds better?
Here's a little something to do. If you think Machine Head is better than Linkin Park, click "yes" under "was this review helpful?". If you think Machine Head is a poser band ripping off Linkin Park, click "no".
