Description: Known for his chart-topping single "I Wanna Be a Baller," rapper Lil' Troy can't convince the world that he's foremost a rapper and not just a drug dealer. Sittin' Fat Down South is 14 tracks about the drug life and the struggle to survive it. Guest appearances by southern rappers Scarface and Willie D make the album bearable, as does "Small Time," the album's excellently produced high point featuring a beautiful soprano voice sample, horn, and hard-hitting drums. Sittin' Fat fails, not because of its single-minded subject matter, but because it lacks musical ideas. The album is mostly keyboards with little variation in played or sampled riffs, so almost every song sounds the same. But if you're looking for something with a lot of bass to bump in your system, then Lil' Troy will satisfy your cravings. --Kenji Jasper

Reviews:

"Shermed-Out Reviewers"

What in the F*@$ were y'all smokin??? This album is piss-poor.
With the exception of his ONE HIT and WHERE'S THE LOVE AT, this
CD sucks!!! I bought this s#!% used for like six bucks and I admit I was a fool for buying the damn thing...I'm out

BOGUS BOGUS ALBUM !

THIS ALBUM REMINDS ME OF JAY-Z AND HIS TROPICAL LIFE .DON'T BUY THIS CD PLEASE.

great cd

fantastic cd - Wanna Be rocks and so do the other songs. Great idea with all the guest singers. Best in a while.

it all sounds alike

The single "Wanna Be a Baller" was okay but i have to admit its no different than the other raps out there. Its all about money cars, getting high, and being a balla. Although that's a part of everyday life, if you know other people live it all the time, why not rap about something new?

lyrical masterpiece

underground rhymes that bring it on almost every track. if you have a sub in your trunk this will light it up.

no stars for this bs

this is some horrible crap.....if u want some REAL underground music look for aesop rock.....look for mr lif....look for shock g.....look for murs.....look for atmosphere....look for c rayz walz.....look for cannibal ox....then tell me how much this is fake underground crap.no stars for this bs.if u gonna listen to southern rap, listen to the best, outkast.
