Reviews:
Almost as underrated than Led Zeppelin 3.
This later album rocks harder than their earlier albums. Some people say the only good songs are Achille's last stand and Nobodies fault but mine and the other songs bad. Well I think that's not true. I think every song is great but the best ones are the two I just mentioned. Although Zeppelin is not heavy metal, this album is more heavy metal influenced than other albums. I am more of a die hard zeppelin fan so that's why I like this album. But even if your not a die hard fan you should still get this album. If your new to Led Zeppelin's albums, some must- haves are Zeppelin 2, 3, 4, Houses of the holy, and Physical Grafitti. This album is good but not a favorite.
Not their best but !
The best thing about this album is the song achilles last stand, a crunching fast hard rock song that's 10 minutes long. You definitely hear glimpses of 80's metal in the song,a little maiden i think, I'm sure Led was a big influence on alot of those bands, but this is definitely not their best album.I think For your life is cool also Nobody's fault but mine, however the rest of the album is lacking something.Buy this cd for achilles last stand! if your into spending money on a disc for one song, unfortunately I do that.....
Zep lover loves this album!
Presence is my second favorite 'sit down and listen through' Zeppelin CD, after their first album. I appreciate Zep's harder, faster side, and this album keeps rocking! I would rate 'Achilles Last Stand' as Zep's second best song, after Stairway. It is the perfect rock n roll song, with fast guitars and mean drumming. The guitar solo by Page is one of my all time favorites (from any band!), and reminds me emotionally of Gilmour's solo on 'Time'. After reading other reviews here I am delighted to see that I'm not the only Zep lover who thinks that 'Tea for One' is a fantastically awesome song! I wouldn't describe myself as a huge blues fan, but Zeppelin does it perfectly, and 'Tea' shows it - I feel it to the core of my soul on every listen! Other personal favorites here are 'For Your Life' and 'Nobody's Fault'. Zep rocks!!
