Classy pop

Kylies move to the Deconstruction label proved to be a good move as this cd proves.
She moved away from throwaway pop, to classy pop tunes (there is a difference!).

The gorgeous Confide In Me - which is without a doubt one of her best ever singles, starts with those remarkable strings.
The beautiful Put Yourself In My place, her best ballad to date (and still in my opinion!), Where is The Feeling, Falling (written by the Pet Shop Boys) and the M-People penned track Time Will Pass You By.

My only criticism is some of the tracks are over long, and would have been best in edit form.

Classy.

Just because its kylie, doesn't mean it's "bad"

While Kylie's never released a really good album, this album contains occasional moments of brilliance! but it's not great, Confide In Me is good and a few others, but it's not spectacular. Kylie is just a pop star but I get the feeling that when she released this album she thought she was more than what she is, and this is Kylie taking herself a bit too seriously, still it's an OK album with no intention to mind boggle people.

New Wave

This album stated the new Kylie era. Kylie's music was now more adult one..."Confide in Me" was number two in UK charts. It is quite scary track because it tells about desperate mind. "Surrender" is so referessing. "If I Was..." and "Where Is the Feeling" are classic Kylie. They are that kind of tracks that can be listened to as background music but if you want to know them better you need to listen to them deep. "Put Yourself in My Place" (I wonder what the title means...) is also a hit from this album. Other great tracks are "Where Has the Love Gone" and "Time Will Pass You By" which are both quite happy tracks musically...but not lyrically.
