Especially for You
Kylie Minogue's first decade of pop was fulfilled in 1997 so it was time for collection. Without a doubt she is at least a princess of pop music. The major 80's hits like "I Should Be So Lucky", "Got to Be Certain", "The Loco-Motion", "Never Too Late", "Hand on Heart" make sure that your hunger of pop music will find somethin' that you won't starve. In 80's Kylie's music and her voice was quite innocent, like a little girl's innocence. She made also a duet with Jason Donovan "Especially for You" which was a major hit and I still think that it is the best duet I have ever heard. After those two 80's album, Kylie changed her style...now she was more "naughtier" and the songs like "Better the Devil You Know", "Shocked", "Word Is Out" were released. They weren't as big hits as the earlier ones but they became popular for live songs. Also a duet with Keith Washington "If You Were With Me Now" was released. It was also a big hit. Kylie's style changed again with "Kylie Minogue" and "Impossible Princess" albums. They were now more adult pop music than before...some of them are still great songs for her concerts: "Confide in Me", "Put Yourself in My Place", "Did It Again", and "Breathe". There's also three great rare tracks "Say The Word - I'll Be There", "Made in Heaven", and "Where in the World".
Stars: Especially for You, Got to Be Certain, Tears on My Pillow, Step Back in Time, I Should Be So Lucky
SPECTACULAR COLLECTION
This is clearly an amazing album, it encompasses Kylie Minogue's entire career, what is missing are the "Light Years", "Fever" and "Body Language" sessions....but rest assured the new "Ultimate Kylie" collection is due for release in late 2004.....I LOVE YOU KYLIE!!!!
This cd re-ignited my passion for Kylies work!
I remember ver distinctly back in the day when Kylie's locomotion was all the rage on the radio. For my birthday my mother bought me Kylie's first album on cassette which I still have to this day. When her second cd, "Enjoy Yourself" was released, i picked it up, after that, Kylie was not heard from again in the U.S. It wasn't until the release of her "Fever" cd that I had thought anything about her. Upon hearing the bonus track "Butterfly", I knew there was much more to be learned. While in the cd store one day I came across this greatest hits cd, so I picked it up. It sparked a whole new love affair with Kylie. Within a period of about 6 months I ordered every album she released in the UK and Australia, every remix cd available, and even found the companion dvd to this greatest hits package. Kylie has DEFINATELY pushed Madonna out of the limelight for me. Kylie's music is just as pure and fun as her voice is smooth. If you can find the companion dvd to the greatest hits disc it's WELL worth it. It includes rare interviews, alternate video versions, behind the scenes video shoots(with a cameo by sister Danni) as well as a wonderful photo slide show that plays along to an instrumental verison of "Turn It Into Love", which, available on her debut disc, was only a big hit in Japan, other than my bedroom. Along came the Ultimate Kylie cd and dvd, which, of course I purchased, but I still find myself going back to this compilation for some classic Kylie. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!! The remix bonus disc is awesome too, Hi-lights on that disc are the Movers n Shakers mixes of Better the Devil You know and What Do I have to DO..sure , peak time, club floor fillers modernized for today!
