An Absolute Gem

Sure, its not the Old Schooo Kool & the Gang, but this CD is brilliant. It is very short (37 minutes) but every song is near-excellent (cherish is so-so in my opinion). I cannot recommend it highly enough, especially for the very low price its selling for (postage cost me more than the Album itself). "Bad Woman" is an increadible slow-paced classic that has been overlooked on all the best of's out there. If youve got this far do yourself a favour and buy it.

Kool & The Gang's biggest hit!

Released in late 1984,EMERGENCY was Kool & The Gang's best-selling album. It spawned four Top 20 hits,the title track,FRESH,MISLED and the love ballad CHERISH. Next to this album,K&TG had a megahit in 1980,CELEBRATION. CELEBRATE!,the album which CELEBRATION comes from,was not a megahit itself,like this one. After this album,the band had no major hits.

The Last Gaspe Of Greatness!

'Emergency' is Kool & The Gang's most underrated 80's albums,as most of their work of this era is.But from the rocked up titled track and "You Are The One" prove these guys still have it!The funkiest track is "Fresh" with it's great rhythm and catchy hook."Misled" is again more rockish while "Cherish" is a nice ballad."Surrender" again catches the band in a fierce funk mode.So in the end I highly recommend this set over the (thankfully" OOP embarrassment of 1986's 'Forever' and you'd better get a hold of it before his dissappears.
