Reviews:

Amazing!

This album is amazing first off just because it is so hardcore and raw. Second of all it is Killswitch Engage's first album including there demo's from 1999. Now if that ain't rad, I don't know what is. You get the full self-titled album remastered plus four demos. You also get a free Ferret Music Sampler. It has eleven tracks of pure hardcore metal all from Ferret Music. If you are one of those people that jsut like the melodic singing more than the yelling then I would stick to The End Of Heartache. Howard has an amazing voice and all but he just cant replace Jesse's vocals. They pure genuis in my opinion. I definately think this album deserves five stars.

Great album but....

Wow... I'm suprised I get to review this first. Anyways if you are reading this then you A) Are smart and love this cd or B) are stupid and love The End of Heartache and want to hear this. I consider this album a classic. It is perfect and much harder than Alive or Just Breathing and The End of Heartache. It is also much more original. This cd is very true and is very powerful. This is Leach at his best, lyrically and vocally. If I could give this album 4.5 stars that is what it would get. This album is perfect in every aspect, but this reissue is very overproduced. If you loved Alive or Just Breathing, then you will love this. I also thought that album was overproduced, but it fit better because of all of the melody. This cd has melody, but it is mostly brutal metal. The original version of this cd is better and more raw. More like how they are live. By the way Amazon says this was put out on Roadrunner (which is a pathetic nu-metal label), but it was actually put out on Ferret (a good label). I recommend this cd to people who enjoy metal. I wouldn't call this metalcore (such a dreaded word). It is more of metal with some breakdown (thought that is loosely metalcore). Buy this to enjoy Killswitch Engage at their musical peak (though this is only their first album). So throw away The End of Heartache and buy this. If you like this, you would most likely love Blood Has Been Shed's Novella of Uriel (Howard Jones on vocals).

pointless

only giving this full stars because the music on this album IS GOOD. But if you already have the original, there is no point whatsover to have this. the only thing new you get is demos. now tell me, these are demos of songs that are already in full length on the album. so why would you want to hear a demo of a song you can listen to in it's full glory ON THE SAME DISC? it's like your favorite dvd coming with it's movie trailor. um, why?

and to the guy who says throway the end of heartache. get a life, stoping be troo, klvt, and underground to the bones. you really think killswitch sound different than they do now? please, they have no diversity, all their albums sound the same. stop getting mad because your band now has more than two fans.
