Reviews:

2-1/2 stars -- Well, I guess that's what hoping gets you

I've always been a fan of K-Ci and JoJo, and although I don't own all their albums, I have at least listened to them all. But the only one I was really impressed with was, of course, Love Always. It's Real was "ehhh...okay", and X was slightly better, but THIS album? Well, let's just say it may make you Emotional in a negative way.

The album starts off with a pointless intro, and by the way, it feels like they use the same intro on all their albums. Then comes the badly written "This Very Moment", which I'm sure most people have heard: "I can't believe it's true/I'm standing here in front of you/And you are here with me." And the song doesn't get any better later on. In fact, that's the main problem with this album. The songwriting is really lazy. This is also proven in tracks like "Special" and "I Don't Want", but it's most evident in "Say Yes", where the chorus goes: "If it's feeling good to you, say yes/ If it's feeling good to you, say yes/ If it's feeling good to you, say yes/If it's not feeling good, then say no." That kind of ruined the mood.

There are some songs where the lyrics are a LITTLE better. "Love Me Carefully" is okay, but it seems like K-Ci and JoJo are too old to be singing lyrics like that (listen to the song to see what I mean). And "How Long" is aiight but it almost sounds like a country song. But it still sounds better that some of the other songs that are terrible all the way through - specifically, the Rodney Jerkins-produced "It's Me".

The only songs really worth listening to on this album are "So Emotional" and maybe even "How Can I Trust You". And saying that is really disappointing, especially from people as talented as the brothers Hailey. Bottom line: if you can actually make it through this album, then it'll be easy to "Say Yes" to throwing it out your window "This Very Moment".

Emotional Is A Masterpiece

I have always wondered wheather any album is going to follow up on Love Always. I thought X did it but I was wrong; this is it. I will always recomend Love Always; with the arrival of Emotional it added a second cd to recomend. Everyone is going to complain of the lack of Jodeci touch(Devante) but the producers on this album outdid themselves. First off, the new singe Its Me is a different style put out by Rodney Jerkins, I usually pick him out easily with his elegant style of his drum beats; 'Its Me' shows his Variety. Babyfaces came out with a bang on 'Down For Life', proteges The Underdogs top it with 'Love Me Carefully' puts them where they belong with the best in the game. Delite follows up 'Crazy' with 'How Can I trust You' similar in style but if it works why change it. Other great songs include their new single 'This Very Moment', if you ask me its a bold move to try and beat 'All My Life'. 'How Long' features their great vocal abilities that we all know about(need to say more?) but they try and do more with the background. All in all this is a great Album I give it 4 because 'Im Still Waiting' it had to have a Devante song before I oust "Love Always", Otherwise awesome cd, lets face it they are way past their crazy Jodeci days, they are on a new level. A definate and great buy. eric .g.

Exaclty Who IS This????

These songs are all very cute and romantic, but where is my RAUNCH? C'mon now, y'all know that even the sweetest, purest, truest love has to have SOME stank in it to work. The voices are still there, but most of this material would be better off with the Backstreet Boyz or O-Town or even The Carpenters. These are real men with real voices-find material that allows them to show that in ALL of it's forms. Please, at least put SOME of that good ole stank a dank dank back in it! I guess they call this maturing, but I call it getting stale-REAL FAST! And that last one "How Long" sounds borderline country-WHAT?? Where is DEVANTE SWING????
