A Terrific Compilation Of John's Later Songs

This is a wonderful compilation featuring many wonderful songs recorded by John Denver later in his career, many of them not as well known as his greatest hits but still well worth the listening, as is almost anything from this incredibly talented voice gone so suddenly silent. This is one of a number of posthumous releases of his large catalog of songs and albums. John was truly a unique talent, a one-of-a-kind whose like we will never know again. In his heyday no one was outselling his albums or out-booking John for concert appearances, and considering the incredible talents on the scene at the time, that is a pretty good indication of just how popular he was, and just how universal John Denver's appeal was. No one else sang of the wide-open possibilities and seemingly limitless possibilities for a good life awaited those who would free themselves from the bonds that confined them and just dare to soar along with him in the wild open spaces.

Many of the tracks here are terrific, from "Come And Let Me Look Into Your Eyes" to "Is It Love?", from "You're So Beautiful" to "Sweet Surrender", from "Seasons Of the Heart" to "Wild Montana Skies". John, more than any of his contemporaries, actively caught the public's imagination regarding the wonders of the natural environment, and in a time when environmental concerns were splashed all over the headlines and the evening news, John's vision of popular concern for and stewardship of the natural world was immensely important. This album represents a wonderful overview of some of the later work of John as he thrilled a whole generation with his own perspective of a meaningful life lived in the natural splendor of nature. I know you will enjoy this as well as all of his other albums. Far out!

Excellent!!!

I'm so glad I bought this CD! I can listen to it again and again and never tire of it! I recommend this CD to anyone who's looking for music to express being in love or falling out of love. Way to go, John!

This CD touches your heart and soul

This one is a recent purchase for me and I just can't stop playing it. I love it. There are songs on this CD that make you want to smile and others that make you want to cry. The version of 'For You' on this CD is not as nice as the version that is on the 'WildLife Concert' CD but I still love it just the same. If you are a JD fan, this one is a must. But then again, I would probably say that about every CD he has ever produced.
