Reviews:

A fun album to throw on once and awhile

Don't be mistaken by this CD. This isn't an album you will be putting on all the time. This is just a fun album of Jimi and the Band of Gypsys rehearsing for their Fillmore East Concerts. They jam around three holiday tunes, "Little Drummer Boy", "Silent Night", "Auld Lang Syne" and even "Taps" at one point. There is some nice guitar playing in here, and this is just a neat album to listen to every so often and, of course, around Christmas time. The third track is an extended version of the same medley, taken from a different take. The second track is "Three Little Bears", an outtake from the Electric Ladyland sessions. This song goes on record as the only Hendrix song I don't like. It's just silly sounding, and the lyrics are silly as well (Jimi even admits it during the song). I don't have the CD version of this album. I bought the green 7" vinyl record version, just for fun, and because it was cheap. The vinyl version doesn't have the extended version of the holiday medley. So, if you're a Hendrix nut, go ahead and buy this one. Like I said, a fun little album to listen to at Christmas, and every once and awhile.

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money.
This CD is a joke.
Absolutely woefull stuff.

Not much bang for the buck

I bought this CD when I spotted it Christmas shopping one day because I wanted to kind of "stir things up" a bit and add some novelty and variety to the usual repetitive selection of Christmas songs that get played in my family around this time of year.

But I was highly disappointed to find that this so-called "Hendrix Christmas Album" that the store had a big sign up promoting actually only consists of 3 songs, 2 of which are in fact the exact same medley played twice in different takes, and with the remaining song having absolutely nothing to do with Christmas.

I feel very ripped off and feel like I payed the price of an album just to get one so-so song.

Don't be as dumb as me.

'Nuff said.
