Description: Unlike most single-artist remix albums,
J to tha L-O! actually has a purpose beyond raking in cash from fans. The best of these cuts brings much-needed weight to the often-weak writing, vocals, and production that mar Jennifer Lopez's two previous multiplatinum albums. The prize, of course, is her duet with Ja Rule on "I'm Real," but the other highlights (a Rodney Jerkins reworking of his own "If You Had My Love," P. Diddy's "Feelin' So Good") follow along similar hip-hop/R&B lines. Her stabs at street cred aren't always as successful; the 12-letter curse she employs on the Sack International Remix of "Play" is a good deal less than convincing. Generic house rhythms don't do anything for "Let's Get Loud" and "Walking on Sunshine." Finally, the new, tacked-on ballad "Alive," cowritten by the superstar, begins like "I Honestly Love You" but quickly proves itself a new "Greatest Love of All," filled with blind self-love. It's hard to tell if there's even anyone else in the room, or if she's just singing to a mirror.

Reviews:
Best remix album ever
Remix albums usually totally suck-a bunch of lackluster reworkings, only to shovel in extra money from diehard fans. J To The L-O, however, is a great remix album. And Hoooly cow J. Lo really accomplished something, getting Ja Rule and 50 Cent on one album. But I have one problem....people say 50 Cent is on this track. The back of the ALBUM says 50 Cent is on this track. In the version I got, I can't hear a single word from 50 Cent throughout the entire song (and I've listened to it multiple times)....did I get a bad disc or is everyone's like that? Anyways, this album's tight. Go get it now.
She can't actually sing
ive heard all her released material and it isn't all that much like people say she is.the remixes are not that great, but the best one that stands out is Waiting for Tonight..that song in my opinion is the best one she's ever released to date and the remix is actually the best one ive heard by many artists...and that new song ALIVE...is a nice song and the lyrics are sweet..but her voice doesn't do the song any justice..she tries to hit notes her voice can't even reach..she should stick to her more hip/hop sound where voice isn't such a big deal...
Yeah, its pretty awesome
J.lo is really good on these remixes. I love how she re-did I'm real & Im gonna be alright. They weren't my fav on "J.lo". She really came back on the remixes. Ja rule is good with her. She did really awesome..but i like all her other cds 2. Honestly, this is really awesome CD. i reccomend it to anyone who bought..AND ENJOYED "J.lo" the cd. You would totally luv dis cd. Hope this was helpfull.....
