When Iron Maiden played Run To The Hills as a bonus encore
at Rock In Rio, nobody knew the impact it would later have.
Later in 2001, it was learned that former drummer, Clive Burr
was diagnosed with Multiple Sclorosis. Iron Maiden thought
with the upcoming release of Rock In Rio, it would be
appropriate to release as a single, Run to the Hills and
give the proceeds to a fund set up for the former bandmate
who was a member at the time the song was written. The quality
is much better than the last two live albums and sounds similar
to the live after death version. The added tracks, also were
remastered well and Total Eclipse is my favorite of the two.
The last track is the video of run at rio which will be on the
forthcoming dvd. Again, what a great way to pay tribute to
former bandmate during difficult times. Best of luck Clive.

Cool single

For those of you who don't know, former Iron Maiden percussionist (that's drummer for you uneducated folks) Clive Burr became deeply ill. To raise money to help support him, the band rereleased a single with a classic track he played on - Run To The Hills. Read on to see how this single measures up.

Run To The Hills - The Iron Maiden classic. The opening riff is just unbeatable, and since this single was released to benefit Clive Burr, be sure to pay his drumming extra attention; it often goes unappreciated.

Children Of The Damned (Live) - An excellent live recording of everyone's favorite hard and gloomy Maiden track.

Total Eclipse (Live) - Another excellent live track of a song that tends to go unappreciated, even by Maiden fans.

You also get an enhanced CD video on this CD, which is an amazing live performance at the 2001 Rock In Rio festival in Brazil.

My only real complaint with this single is the price. For just a dollar or two more, you can get the entire Number Of The Beast album, which includes the studio version of every track on this single.
