Hallowed Be Thy High Bass!
THIS IS THE BEST LIVE ALBUM BY MAIDEN AND ALLSO MY FAVORITE!
THE BASS IS GREAT, AND THE SONG CHOICE IS GREAT! IT'S A CLASSIC BY A CLASSIC HEAVY METAL BAND. DONINGTON IS THE MIDPOINT OF THE HEAVY METAL UNIVERSE, HALLOWED BE DONINGTON, NOWHERE ELSE SHOULD BE BETTER TO DO A LIVE ALBUM AT!
Third Best Iron Maiden Live Album
People may brag that this album's trash, but most reviewers and myself believe that this is one of Iron Maiden's best live albums ever!!! Behind Live After Death and Rock In Rio of course, but people shouldn't just call this album crap because of its production and songs. You should at least give this album some respect for having Iron Maiden interact with the fans and... well, lets just say that the fans who were at the show thought the show was excellent! I wasn't there but I still believe in this album. The songs were exellent although they're almost identical to the tracklist on A Real Live Dead One (now that's an album that sucks!) but have better quality which earned this album 4 stars. I took of a star because the tracklist hasn't changed from A Real Live Dead One except the only different track which is Wrathchild so that kinda sucks.
Nonetheless, I personally recommend this album to any Maiden fans... just steer clear of A Real Live Dead One.
Up The Irons!
Turn the bass down!!!!!
THis is a great live record with many maiden classics for you to enjoy(read the track listing). Some people argue that the production is not as good as the production for the "Live After Death " CD,but I thing they are dead wrong. If you are listening to this CD with the bass turned up really loud the Production seems a bit out of whack.Steve Harris must have wanted to make shure we could hear every note he played. If you just turn the bass down the production is every bit as good as "Live A.D." The only problem I have with Live Maiden records is most of them have the same songs .How many Versions of "Number of the Beast," "Two minutes to midnight," and "Wrathchild" do we really need? I wish they would change up some. Maybe play some songs off of the "Somewhere it Time" Album.I would really love to have a live version of the song "Alenxander the great" (who wouldent.) THis is a MUST HAVE for any maiden fan ...Put it in the cart.
Another live album from maiden...
This album is one of many live albums from Iron Maiden, personally I think they are a great live band, and Im sure many people agree and thats why they have put so many live records on the market. This one in particular is not their best, the sound is not good, Bruce doestn sound as good as he really is and the songs they play are the ones they always play live. The interactive section is cool, and I would have to agree with the other reviewer that this is what saves this album. If you only get the record for the music, then its not worth it, at least the artwork is great, it comes with many pictures and also with the lyrics, but in the end not Maidens best work, they shouldnt have release this one.
Disc two saves album
Live at Donington is a twenty track, double disc replica of the limited edition vinyl collection. It has some great songs such as Iron Maiden, Run to the Hills, The Number of the Beast,Fear of the Dark, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Heaven Can Wait, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Tailgunner, and Running Free. I'd normally give this four stars at max. because its hard to hear Bruce singing among the wailing guitars, but the multimedia section is really cool. It has ful length vidoes of, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Iron Maiden, Hallowed Be Thy Name, and Heaven Can Wait. It then has three other videos that cover excerpts from Run to the Hills, Number of the Beast, and Be Quick or Be Dead. If you don't have the requirements for the viewing the multimedia than you might want to buy this at your own risk
BEST LIVE RECORDING RELEASED BY IRON MAIDEN
this cd as compared to the last two live albums they put out captures iron maiden in excellant form. This a recording of the excellant set they performed at the Donnington festival in 92(also of note adrian smith rejoins the band to play on the last song sanctuary)
