Description: The foursome come roaring out of the blocks with their latest collection. The album's first single, "Beautiful Day," raced to the No. 1 slot on the U.K. singles charts and received a similar rapturous reception stateside. From its shimmering preamble to its sweeping, infectious chorus, it perfectly stakes out the middle ground between the anthemic U2 of the '80s and the more grounded group of the '90s. With Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno sharing production chores again after having taken a break with
Pop, the U2 team enters the new millennium with their lineup--and mission--intact.

Reviews:
Most overrated U2 album ever
What's the point with this album?. Let's take it seriously. Half of the album is just filler. The other half is filled with empty radio-friendly stuff as Elevation, Beautiful Day or Stuck In A Moment.
It's clear most of U.S fans love this album for one reason alone: September 11th. After that day, U2 made countless omages to those victims, and the album sales went wild. Ever since, most of mass media wrote wonderful reviews about this album "third masterpiece", "return to form", "best since Achtung Baby", etc. No worries about Rolling Stone reviews, those "critics" always rate a new U2 album as their best in years, with 5 stars, and then they down it to 4.
Song by song, this album is completely artificial, weak, pointless, commercial, cheap and hit-and-miss.
1- Beautiful Day: This is a shameful song. Bono is in bad shape- neverthless he loves that rough singing- and programming is amateur. Every Pop programming and loop blow that production on the water. The rest of the band -except for The Edge, who usually saves a crappy tune like this one- don't exist. No mention to those lyrics. Simply, a Grammy worthy song, a summer hit. Period.
2- Stuck In A Moment: Lame attempt at ballad. Bono, again, is in awful shape but he pretends to sing like heaven. Boring as hell, this is another hit-and-miss number.
3- Elevation: The most silly U2 rock number at the time. Lyrics mean nothing, with cliche rhymes and so basic melody. 3 minutes of commercials. This song doesn't even deserves to be a B-side. No worries why this corporate piece of Rock industry was a soundtrack for one of the worst Hollywood movies ever made. As useless and overhyped as all that Tom Ryder s***.
4- Walk On: Another lame attempt at poetry. Bono's lyrics on the whole album are just pathetic. Don't even close to Pop (their most underrated album, but it contains the best Bono's lyrics and best and most exciting production ever). At the end of this song, Bono runs out of ideas and tries to copy Pink Floyd's Eclipse. Shame on Paul Hewson. Once again, he sings like s***.
5- Kite: Most overrated song of the album, just because Bono said this is his favourite song of the album. The chorus is quite good, but the rest of the song is terrible. It stars in an annoying boring rhythm, with silly strings and guitar slide. At the middle of the song Bono screams (literally) in such awful way. His voice is completely gone at that point. After listening to this song, it's clear they had a good chorus, but they hadn't any other idea for the song, so they filled it with predictable chords and sounds.
6- In A Little While: Try this one: let's smoke and drink for a whole week and then you'll sing like Bono on this song. Both Edge's chords and Bono's voice are the worst of them, really. I simply can't stand this acoustic number. Yet again, production just makes this song even worse, with all those strings and dry vocals sound.
7- Wild Honey: Singles of this album are gone. The rest of itself is just filler stuff for the running time. This is another acoustic crappy filler song. I bet you Bono and The Edge were listening to The Beatles Two Of Us and they tried to copy that song. Do you want to listen to a real bad voice?. Listen to the middle of this song.
8- Peace On Earth: even those ones who pretend to love this album just because that's fashionable admit they skip this song. Another lame boring ballad.
9- When I Look At The World: And it goes...another ballad from a "Raw Rock" album...overall a very good melody...spoiled by one of the worst Bono's singing ever. I really can't stand that singing with the flu.
10- New York: Despite the album was released before September 11th 2001, still many mindless teens feel nostalgia with this song just because it's titled "New York". U2 used very well that situation during 3rd leg of Elevation Tour. Neverthless this is the best song and of the B-side, with- for the first time- fantastic Edge's guitars.
11- Grace: Worst album closer ever. 3 chords repeated all the time that goes nowhere. Most boring U2 tune ever.
Go and listen to Pop and Zooropa instead, their underground hidden gems.
This is one seriously overrated album (AND IT'S TOTALLY BORI
Beatiful day was a good track. I really like it. The rest of the album............-sucked. All the songs, except for Beatiful, were trash. Completely boring. People who give this piece of trash five stars need to learn a liitle more about music. Boring Guitar Rhythms, boring drums, boring bass, and completely forgettable vocals. Lyrics are a lame attempt to be poetic and that about sums it up. Download beatiful day off of itunes or something, but forget about the rest of the album. I wasted my money big time on this disc. I haven't listened to it for like 5 years because it is just so pathetic. U2 IS CAPABLE OF MAKING SOME GOOD MUSIC, BUT WITH THIS DISC THEY FAILED.
U2 Is Da Bomb!
This is one of the best CD's that I have ever heard. I am a huge fan of U2 as you could see, it has all of their best songs, and I highly recommend this CD to any huge U2 fans that are looking for their best songs. My dad bought me one, and has one for himself as well because he and I are both really big fans. So if you are a big fan of U2, this is a must have CD for u! This CD is very nice to listen to when youre feelin' bleu, or down, or youre just feelin' like some U2.
