Fantastic!!!!
Part 2 continues the tone of the first "Keeper". Astonishingly beautiful and powerful music, wonderful arrangement, there is no words for how good this album is. These two Keepers are for keeps.
The best power metal album ever?
Well, it's a contender for that title. Helloween's third album, 1988's 'Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt. 2,' is by far their best and a staple of German metal and power metal. Everything about it is good. The production is good all around, with plenty of emphaisis on every instrument. Michael Kiske has never sounded better.
However, one key component is this: to really get the most out of the record, you need to know more than just "I Want Out." Sure, it's a great song, one of Helloween's best in fact, but it's not the whole album. For one thing, "Dr. Stein," the second single off this album, is another of the band's greatest songs ever. The solos, particularly the organ one, are absolutely terrifying, in a good way. Then, there's the frantic speed metal of "Invitation/Eagle Fly Free" and "Save Us," where Kiske's voice is more bone chilling than ever (especially on "Save Us.") But the one song that turned me on to this album was the epic closer, "Keeper of the Seven Keys." The song has everything. It's long, it's epic, and it has a wide variety of riffs. It starts out a la Queensryche's "Take Hold of the Flame," then slowly evolves into one of the hardest, fastest songs Helloween have ever recorded. Overall, this album is highly recommended (I have recently ordered it, and I have heard the entire album, for my friend owns it on his Mp3 player.) It truly is contending for the title of the greatest power metal album ever.
You need this album.
This is regarded as one of Helloween's best albums (there's a power struggle going on between this and Time Of The Oath). Cool artwork and great songs make this one a winner. A great follow up to Keepers pt.I
1. Invitation- 5/5- similar to Initiation on the first Keepers album, this one is also an intro that sets us up for-
2. Eagle Fly Free- 5/5- great song pointing out the problems with the world and protesting against them. God bless America (and everyone else too)!
3. You Always Walk Alone- 5/5- cool heavy song
4. Rise And Fall- 4/5- very similar to Eagle Fly Free, but not as good
5. Dr. Stein- 5/5- this one protests genetic engineering. Really catchy. The first verse is hilarious (read the CD insert. You'll get it.).
6. We Got The Right- 4/5- slower, but inappropriately heavy.
7. Save Us- 5/5- fantastic song. For some reason they don't put all of the lyrics in the insert. Too bad.
8. March of Time- 5/5- happy song after Save Us. Cool chorus.
9. I Want Out- 5/5- awesome song, one of their most popular. Sort of follows the whole sort of youth-rebellion thing.
10. Keeper Of The Seven Keys- 5/5- second album in a row with a 13 minute song. Religious lyrics and really cool music. Michael Kiske shows of his pipes in the outro. Wish I could do that...
