Description: Green Day takes the title
International Superhits literally, offering a no-surprises compilation of all the songs that made a big dent on commercial radio. From the pop-punk heroes' breakthrough album
Dookie ("Longview," "Welcome to Paradise") through
Insomniac ("Brain Stew"),
Nimrod ("Good Riddance [Time of Your Life]"), and
Warning ("Minority"), if a record produced a hit, that song is on this album. There are only two new tracks on the
Superhits (both recorded a couple of months before the album's release)--the spazzed out rock & roll singalong "Maria" and the puppy-dog love of "Poprocks & Coke." Because
International Superhits doesn't pull from Green Day's early EPs and Lookout albums or offer any live variations, though, this album is really only one for the serious-minded collectors who don't want to skip past a single Green Day release.

4/5 for evryother song
Album altogether gets high recommendations from me and everyone else whos listened to this album. A definant must have.
Awesome
This is an awesome CD from start to finish. Starting off with Maria, it speeds through a "power block" of Longview, Welcome to Paradise, Basket Case, and When I Come Around. Billie Joe keeps you hooked with his lyrics and guitar riffs. Tre Cool rocks on drums. Mike Dirnt, well, plays good bass. I love the mix of acoustic songs like Poprocks and Coke, Warning, and Time of Your Life, with distorted songs that made them famous. Green Day kicks ass live, as well. I love this CD, a lot better than American Idiot. I don't like AI because it's not like Green Day. Buy this CD. Right now. No why are you still reading, go buy it. GET OUT OF HERE! Haha. But seriously.
Extremely Disappointing
I am glad I sold this record. I hate Green Day with an utter vengeance and I hope they die. However, some of their first albums are good, like "Dookie" and, my favorite, "Insomniac". "Nimrod" is OK, as it is experimental, but "Warning" and "American Idiot" suck.
Hey, but what about their first two releases, "1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours" and "Kerplunk"? Why aren't any of those tracks on there? Is it because they're on a better label? Likely. Here's my idea of a GOOD Green Day best-of, and this is the track listing:
I Was There, 2000 Light Years Away, Welcome To Paradise '92, Longview, Basket Case, When I Come Around, Welcome To Paradise, She, BRAIN STEW, Jaded, Walking Contradiction, Geek Stink Breath, Stuck With Me, Hitchin' A Ride, Nice Guys Finish Last, Redundant, King For A Day
I would likely add another track from their first two releases as well. Don't buy this. Anything beyond "Nimrod" sucks.
