Calling
This CD is soothing and very enjoyable. Its great car music or music for just listening to. I love it! I'm telling you these are fabulous songs and Geri Halliwell is a phenomenal artist. I guarenty that you will like it if you buy it and listen to it. The CD contains the remixes of Calling her newest hit song and a lovely, relaxing french versen. For more great music by Geri Halliwell you could her buy her albums Schizophonic or Scream If Ya Wanna Go Faster.
Getting better and Destiny Aren't 'Calling'
It pains me to give 4 stars to something Geri Halliwell. I am a die-hard fan and her creativity and energy are inspiring but the b-sides would be called fillers if they made the album.
1. Calling..album version...sure to be the last single of the album. She has dedicated 2002 to finding movie roles.
2. Getting better..I dont understand her references to needing therapy, being saved and craziness. Funky beat..almost disco. Another song co-written by Peter Vettese but unlike the other songs this one is just lacks purpose
3. Destiny..another part disco maybe techno sounding song. It about not wanting to break up. Written by Geri and Rick Nowels and does not capture the sparks and inspiration they made with the 3 songs they did that are in the album.
4. The video is like one of those expensive perfume commercials.
Neither b-side will give you your Geri fix. They dont represent Geri's best work. I really recommend the b-sides to 'Scream if you wanna go faster' or 'calling' pt 2 with the remixes if you were interested in Great work that will give you your Geri fix.
GREAT BUY!
Calling alone is a great and sweet pop ballad. Not too slow and not too fast Geri sets the right tempo for a romantic mood. The cd also contains the video of Calling which is in black and white (which is something Geri hasn't done since Look At Me). I think you'd enjoy this song as well as her other work on Schizophonic, Scream If You Wanna Go Faster and her unreleased tracks that are bonuses on every single.
