Reviews:

Germany? Are you on crack?

Contrary to the description above, this Genesis was out of San Francisco, NOT Germany. This album is a fairly decent representation of the late 60's female fronted psychadelic sound common to the Haight-Asbury area...along the lines of Jefferson Airplane.

Generally bohemian lyrics and some long jams, with good licks and hooks. Gloomy Sunday stands out as a song about suicide. Wonder whatever happened to this band and musicians?

Germany? Heavy Metal?

And no relation to the popular UK Genesis in any way either. This is major label American psychedelia at it's best. Originally released on Mercury Records in late 1967, this group from Los Angeles had a heavy, yet versatile sound. This LP has nice arrangements with heavy fuzz guitar reminiscent of Iron Butterfly and The Maze. "Angeline", "One Second Song" and "Gloomy Sunday" are the standout tracks, although the whole LP is very good. With male/female vocal harmonies, the female vocals are up there with the Nancy trinity (Nansi Nevins, Nancy Nairn and Nancy Blossom) and the wonderful Dorothy Moskowitz. Highly recommended! NO German metal here folks, just good ol' 60's acid rock!
