It is an excellent overview of a period in Sinatra's career that is often overlooked and almost always underrated. You'll eventually want the complete Columbia recordings, which are available in a beautiful 12 CD box set. Until then, this is the best collection of Sinatra's Columbia recordings. The music is pure, sensuous, and performed with impeccable taste.

This collection features the most famous and loved tunes that Mr. Sinatra immortalized during the 40's. These are the songs you can listen to over and over again. You can hear and feel Frank's youth and innocence contrasted against the sometimes cold hardships of his life (and your own).
