When Frank Was Frankie

This is a great early Sinatra Christmas recording, cut in six different sessions: November 1944, August 1945, August 1946, June 1947, December 1947, and November, 1950 - all arranged and conducted by Alex Stordahl. Frank's rendition of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" should be considered a classic; "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" really swings, and "Christmas Dreaming" is a little known gem. As Jim Lowe concludes the liner notes, "But, for a little while, have yourself a merry little egg nog, close your eyes and do some "Christmas Dreaming," back to the days when the world was young, and Frank was Frankie."
