My story: I inherited a few years ago a large vinyl collection. one night, with no real expectations, I spun the dog & dustbin album... BLEW MY MIND! soon thereafter, I bought this box set... BLEW MY MIND FURTHER! further recommendation for the purists: Biggest Thing Since Colossus by Otis Spann. Greenie, Danny & McVie back him.
to the detractors: why piddle over silly details? this is a brilliant collection, and I happen to enjoy the chatter, e.g.: "...but if you come in late, I'll F'in brain ya...." and not every new-found Peter Green fan is ancient (AKA of the period). this is a great entryway. and no, Fleetwood Mac was not an authentic black blues band. they were their own thing, and a great thing. if you want to diss John Lee Hooker white watered down wannabees, jump on Lonesome George Thuroughgood. PG is the man.
