Reviews:

A Classic

What can be said about this band that hasn't been said. That they were totally original? That they mixed extreme and industrial metal so seamlessly? That Burton's dual vocal style would be imitated for years to come? Revolutionary is definetly a word that comes to mind when I think of this masterpiece.

Fear Factory actually started out as Death Metal band and evolved into the perfect mix of death and industrial metal on this album. From Dino's razor sharp and heavy riffs, playing in perfect synchronization with Raymond's amazing double bass, to the highlight of the album, for me...Burton's vocals. He has an amazing singing voice and although it would have been nice to hear a more death metal like growl to go along with his clean singing, as on Soul of a New Machine, the extreme vocal side he does use fits quite well here.

Seeing as how this was one of the albums that made me a metal fan, it's impossible for me not to praise this album. Welcome to the world of Fear Factory!

A LANDMARK IN METAL

this is one of THE calssics of the future, a truely great album and a landmark in modern metal, the industrial sounds and bass drum beats are so atmospheric and technically awesome, and the mighty fear factory are right on top of their game. Every metal fan should own this, even a fan of lighter metal such as maiden etc. listeners of any form of metal will see the quality and pure revolutionary origianlity, THIS, ladies and gents, Is REAL extreme metal, at its very, ...very best!, 11/10

also did i mention that this album was released in 1995, and still to this day it kicks the ass of any metallic metal today, even without the foresight and technology, this masterpiece as well as fear factory were years and years before thier time, revolutionaries.

i read a review saying that the legend burton C bell COPIED COREY TAYLOR!, that is a friggin joke, get your facts straight kid!, if it werent for frontmen like Burton, your precious 'corey from slipkot' wouldnt even exist. also and the part about you saying about the drums not being there, raymod herrera is one of the greatest metal drummers EVER, far beyond that random basher joey jordison, Raymond is a legend, and also the greatest and possibly the fastest man to ever grace the double bass drum pedals, enough said.

Fear Factory's Best Album

This Album, Demanufacture by Fear Factory, was actually the first CD by them i ever bought. I was blown away then, because i hadn't yet fully branched out into the many different genres of Metal, and in a way i'm still blown away for the fact that i can still listen to it and get something out of it. Without a doubt, this is them at their best.

With this album, they perfected their own sound without leaning too much towards Nu-Metal. Whereas their 1999 album Obsolete kind of did, in my opinion. And Digimortal..well..That's the album that made me realize Fear Factory will probably never regain the sound they've captured on this album. This album, Demanufacture, is absolute 5 out of 5 material.

The closest this album comes to a "Filler Song", is probably New Breed..and even that isn't that bad. It's still listenable. And the rest of the songs are some of the most classic Fear Factory songs, that are still played Live. Songs like the title track "Demanufacture", "Self-Bias Resistor", "Replica", "Body Hammer" and "Pisschrist" are, to every long time fan of Fear Factory, the standout tracks on this CD i think. "Zero Signal", "Dog Day Sunrise" and "H-K (Hunter-Killer)" are, to me, the not so famous yet still standout tracks too.

"Flashpoint" reminds me alot of the song "Freedom or Fire" off their Obsolete album. It's a good song, but not as memorable to other fans it seems. And the final track "A Therapy For Pain" is a good finisher. Although very slow, and not at all heavy, it has Burton C. Bell singing pretty well. For people who had only heard Fear Factory's 1992 release Soul of a New Machine, with Burton in death metal mode.."A Therapy For Pain" is sure to be a shock to them. But the transition from Death Metal band to Cyber-Metal/Industrial Heavy Metal band, was the best thing they did i think. They are much more suited to what they play now, and did play on this album definitely.

This came out in 1995, and since then Fear Factory has obviously and inevitably gained more and more respect, recognition and alot more fans. Long-time fans would already have this, so to those new to Fear Factory..Definitely start with this if you want to get into this band. This is, like i said, Fear Factory at their best.
