Description: Fabolous has been compared often to self-exiled MC Mase, but though his flow is reminiscent of the ex-Bad Boy's laid-back delivery, all similarities end there. Ghetto Fabolous might be an album that appeals to younger hip-hop heads, but more-discerning fans will find that the freshman artist makes several mistakes that blunt his debut's impact. The missteps include uninspired subject matter (illegal business dealings, ghetto flossing, and fighting off persistent groupies); gratuitous use of the words "thug," "gangsta," and "playa"; and an entire song centered around a Notorious B.I.G. riff ("Get Right" is a mediocre "Players Anthem" knockoff). On the plus side, the album's chock-full of guest appearances designed to please those aforementioned youngsters; Ja Rule's strident vocals on "Ride for This" almost drown out his host's more meticulous delivery. The album's one true bright spot is the dance-floor-friendly "Now and Later." With this one song, Fabolous lives up to the hype. --Rebecca Levine

Fabolous feature G.O.A.T.

Every song is good except for that (...) song "we dont give a ." Over a four for everysong except for that song. The nly reason I like bad guy is because that guys voice is funny. Must cop. Best song youngn keepin it gangsta, cant deny.

Good Debut

Fabolous, who was all but around 21 when he recorded this, made a good debut. With huge street buzz from blowing up Clue's mixtapes, he delivers a good album. Not quite as hard as I though he was gonna be, but it is a good album. Has 9 different producers on the album (5 songs by Duro & Clue). Limits his guests on this one as well so he gets his chance to shine more. His second best album to date (behind "Real Talk"). Has 2 classics and a few good tracks but 2 or 3 skippable tracks as well. A must have for fans.

Great CD.

This is one hot cd. Every track is a great song. "Young'n" and "Can't Deny It" are the best tracks on it. So go and get this album today. Thanks!

WARNING: Dear Parents: Even though this cd is edited, it may contain sequences of sex and violence. Thanks.

Its A Better Debut Than Was Originally Thought

Fabolous was a mixtape champion before his debut album, keeping the streets excited with slick lyrics and impressive punchlines. His debut won him many fans but the critics didn't really warm to it. Nevertheless, Fab now is a superstar and though his lyrics don't hit like they used to, he's still deserving of his fame based on his talent. His debut is actually better than it was percieved in the past, proven by one quick look over the hit singles it spawned; "Holla Back", "Can't Deny It", "Keeping It Gangsta", "Trade It All", "Ride For This". That's nearly half the album. Most artists don't get that close these days, or back then. If you like hot beats and witty lyrics, Fab's debut is a definite winner.
