Understand American influence on 60s Britain
Phil and Don were a huge influence on British pop in the late 50s and through the 60s.If you want a lineage of the vocal qualities of the Liverpool and London recordings from 60 - 67, these Nashville sounds are the parents. "Since you Broke My Heart" is one that was played a lot in Britain, which usually eludes American compilations. Particularly, listen when the brothers contrast in their sweet harmony. You can still here the influence in the music of The Proclaimers.
