Reviews:

Another Great Eric Clapton Album

BEHIND THE SUN is another great Eric Clapton album. A stark contrast from its predecessors, it features some daring experimentation, including the use of guitar synthesizer. According to some sources, executives at Warner Brothers were not happy with some of the risks being taken, added three songs to make the album more commercially-appealing, and released one of those three, "Forever Man", as the first single. "She's Waiting" also got significant airplay, and the album did eventually go gold, although it took two years. Perhaps the concern over the album's commerciality was a result of the relative failure of MONEY AND CIGARETTES, but BEHIND THE SUN is still a great CD/cassette, regardless of what was added on later.

behind his peak...

horrible 80's production, voice not recovered from years of alcohol abuse, guitar playing so so / negligible. A commercial success because of a certain mr P. Collins, who modernized Clapton's sound.

I think it was a commercial success not because of his old time fans but because of people who fell (temporarily, no doubt) for the sound

Hodge Podge Bodge!

Fans call this cd Hodge Podge Bodge because Bodge is all over the place with different styles!
